- I was born and raised in itsy-bitsy Anchor Point, Alaska where the summers are amazing and the winters are long! My favorite hobby has been knitting since I was just a little girlie and I've just recently begun to sell my makings. Alaskan winters are PERFECT for knitting! I love the creation process: seeing something through from an idea all the way to the finished product. I also do construction, new and remodel, where I focus on the artistic and unique elements of design, combining art within the construction of the home. I'm currently working on remodeling our own home from a dingy and dark early-80s design, to an artistic and bright beach house! A few of my places can be seen on my website www.cottagesbylauren.com.
